Our Mission is to provide a place away from the ordinary where individuals and groups can “retreat” and refresh. Our staff will partner with you to make your day trip, retreat or camp a success. Cedar Grove Retreat is a mix of traditional camp charm meets fresh contemporary lodging options, activities and programs. We offer facilities, activities, and meals for groups, allowing you to focus on your event’s purpose. Cedar Grove will work with your group to customize your experience to fit your needs. Our lake, water park, rec fields, basketball and volley courts are great spaces to enjoy time together. In addition Cedar Grove offers onsite programs thought our Low Ropes/High Ropes Challenge Course, Paintball and Environmental Education classes. We also offer off-site Rock Climbing, Kayaking/Canoeing and Hiking/Back Packing. We look forward to serving you!
Cedar Grove Retreat was first developed in the 1940’s by the Girl Scouts of America. In 2001 First Assembly of Concord purchased it and converted it into a full-service Christian camp, providing camping and outdoor experiences to churches and other ministry organizations throughout the Carolinas. After years of service to the Christian community, the camp was purchased by a private foundation. Today, Cedar Grove Retreat not only provides timeless outdoor camping experiences for churches and ministries, it also delivers leadership/ministry training, team building, at-risk student development, father/son retreats, banquet hosting, and more.
Cedar Grove Retreat offers many on-site recreation games including carpetball, pingpong, pool table, corn hole, traversing, climbing wall, tetherball, foosball, box hocket, fishing, and more! We also offer activities such as high ropes course, low ropes course, paintball, waterpark, basketball court, recreation fields, sand volleyball, boating, and more!
Our Cedar Grove Retreat team provides a place away from the ordinary where individuals and groups can encounter the Lord.

Kelvin is very patient and has a servant’s heart, which is why he loves working with people. He loves using the outdoors as a gateway for facilitating programming with Cedar Grove. Kelvin grew up with Lenny as his mentor, since early middle school, being one of the “guinea pigs” for Lenny’s Wide Open Outdoor Ministry. Since then he started as an intern and is now a full-time worker. Lenny has had such an impact on Kelvin’s life, he has continued to purse the outdoors way of life. He now loves going hiking, backpacking, kayaking, climbing and belaying. Although he’s not been very keen on jumping off 40ft rocks…
